Buy Series 1 Truck Cab Online
This is the truck cab setup for a Series 1. It’s the single cab roof and rear panel that turns an open or full length truck into a pickup. On the 80, 86 and 109 inch models, the truck cab was a common option, and plenty of Series 1s were sold that way. If you’ve got one that’s been converted or you’re building a truck cab from a soft top, this is the part you need.
Why they’re hard to find. Series 1 truck cabs didn’t survive in the same numbers as the full hardtops. They got taken off, swapped for something else, or rotted where the roof meets the sides. The rear panel is the usual failure, and the roof edges go too. A complete truck cab from this era is not something you see every week.
Why the Series 1 version matters. Series 1 truck cabs differ from the Series 2 and 2a ones. The shape, the mounting points and the rear window are all different. You can’t fit a later cab without work, and on a restoration that matters if you want it right. That’s why people look specifically for the Series 1 version.
A few things to check before you buy:
-
Which wheelbase. 80, 86 or 109. The cab sizes and mounting points differ. Confirm before you order.
-
Condition of the rear panel. This is where rot starts. Check the bottom edge and where it meets the body.
-
Roof condition. Look at the edges, the seams and around the rear window.
-
Glass. Rear window included or not. Ask.
-
Seals and fixings. Rubber, brackets, bolts. Check what comes with it.
-
Whether it’s complete. Roof, sides, rear panel, back panel. Some listings are partial.
-
Colour and finish. Bare, painted or restored. Match what you need.
One thing worth saying. If the rear panel is rotten, the cab can be repaired, but it’s a welding job and the panel has to stay straight. If it’s gone too far, repairs rarely look right. Ask for photos of the bottom edge before you buy.
Fitting is a two person job. The roof is light but awkward, and the panels need lining up before you tighten anything. Check your existing body cappings and mounting points first, because they’re often the reason the old cab came off in the first place.
You can buy this Series 1 truck cab from landrovergenuinepart.com. Order online, or email us first if you want to confirm fitment before you purchase. We’d rather check the details up front than have you send it back later.
When you get in touch, tell us your model, year and wheelbase. Ask for photos of the rear panel and the roof edges. That’s usually enough for us to confirm whether this is the right cab.

“My Freelander 2 rear wiper motor failed me and resulted in me failing my MOT. I ordered a genuine replacement here and it arrived in three days. It was a simple, straight forward plug and play fitting and I was MOT ready in half an hour. A small job with a prompt dispatch made me a happy customer and I will definitely order some other service parts from them in the future.”
