Order Land Rover Defender 90 Puma Pickup Bolt-In Roll Cage Online
This is a bolt-in roll cage for the Defender 90 Puma pickup. The Puma is the last Defender, sold from 2007 to 2016, and the pickup version has an open load bed behind the cab. On a pickup there’s nothing behind you, so a roll cage is doing real work rather than sitting there for looks.
Why bolt-in. A bolt-in cage fixes to the chassis and the body with brackets and bolts rather than being welded in. That matters for two reasons. You can fit it yourself without a welder, and you can take it out again if you want to. On a pickup that still gets used for work, being able to remove it matters. Welded cages are stronger, but they’re permanent and they need a fabricator.
Why the Puma detail matters. The Puma is a different truck underneath from the earlier Td5 and TDi Defenders. The chassis, the bulkhead and the body mounts changed. A cage made for an earlier 90 won’t fit a Puma without work. The pickup body is different again, because there’s no rear tub behind the cab in the same way. So confirm it’s specifically for the Puma pickup before you buy.
A few things to check before you buy:
-
Confirm it’s for the Puma. 2007 to 2016. Not the earlier Td5 or TDi.
-
Confirm it’s for the pickup. The cage has to suit the open load bed, not a hardtop or station wagon.
-
What the cage includes. Front hoop, rear stays, cross bars, door bars, mounting plates. Ask what’s in the kit.
-
Tube size and material. Check the specification, especially if you need it to meet a competition or club standard.
-
Mounting points. Check the brackets and plates are included and that they suit your chassis.
-
Condition. New or used. Ask.
-
Finish. Bare, painted or powder coated.
One thing worth saying. If you’re fitting this for competition, check the regulations first. Different clubs and events have different requirements for tube thickness, bracing and mounting. A cage that looks fine can fail scrutineering if it doesn’t meet the spec. Ask before you buy, not after.
Also. A bolt-in cage is only as good as its mounting. Bolting to the body alone isn’t enough. It needs to tie into the chassis or a properly reinforced point. If you’re not sure where that is, get someone who knows to look at it.
Fitting is a two person job. The cage is awkward and heavy, and you’ll be working inside the cab and the load bed. Allow a full day. Check the bolts are torqued properly, and go over them again after a few hundred miles.
You can buy this roll cage from landrovergenuinepart.com. Order online, or email us first if you want to confirm it suits your Puma pickup before you purchase. We’d rather check the details up front than have you send it back later.
When you get in touch, tell us your model, year and body style, and whether you need it for road use or competition. That’s usually enough for us to confirm whether this is the right cage.

“Thought I had overheating problem until I discovered it was the thermostat housing which was cracked. Ordered a genuine one here and it arrived quickly, correct part, all sealed. My local garage fitted it with no dramas and my cooling system is working fine. Quicker delivery and cheaper than main dealers. Good to know there are suppliers like themselves for genuine parts.”
